Steve Kirk from CW Fletcher gives his view of the best practice sharing forum we held in July…
“The SiG best practice event was an interesting day at a pleasant venue and the trip to Siemens gave us presentations that were a useful example of what can be achieved in real companies. The content of the day was interesting and useful and the three beneficiaries who presented were all very different examples of the same benefits available to all beneficiaries.
We understand the potential of SiG but it was good to see what’s actually being achieved. As someone who’s been involved with SiG for a few months now, I found the message to be consistent with the message we’ve received all along. If I were a newcomer, I think the presentations were clear and explained the purpose of SiG and the benefits available. In the networking opportunities people were willing to talk regardless of their level of involvement, which, confirms that the atmosphere was right. The networking was very useful I just would have liked more. Perhaps you could consider using structured groups around tables or informal networking,
In addition the trip to Siemens was the most extreme example of how a company can transform itself without turning their workforce off. The enthusiasm of everyone who presented was clear to see and it wasn’t playing to the crowd. They meant it and they’re succeeding.
We are really looking forward to the next best practice event in December.”
