SiG beneficiary Sigma Components, which manufactures components for aero-engine and airframe applications in traditional and composite materials, has announced record growth in the 12 months since its change of ownership, with sales growing by 46%
Sigma operates from six sites across the UK and China, with growth driving significant recruitment and investment across the company. This includes $1 million to enhance Sigma’s fabrication and pipe manufacturing capabilities and the creation of over 50 new jobs in Hinckley, Nuneaton and Farnborough.
Mark Johnson, founder and CEO of Sigma Components, said: “We’re really pleased with the company’s performance over the last 12 months. At the time of the change of ownership, we stated that we wanted to invest in the business to take advantage of growth opportunities and these results have justified that stance.
“Over the last year, we’ve integrated a Rolls-Royce’s Nuneaton pipe manufacturing operations in into our business, creating a pipe manufacturing centre of excellence. We have also invested $1m to expand our pipe manufacturing capabilities in China, strengthened our position on several key airframe and aero-engine programmes, and enhanced our relationships with existing customers by creating a world-class, R&D and NPI capability in house.
“With several key programmes now moving into ramp up phases, and significant new business opportunities on the horizon, we plan to continue this investment across our operations, ensuring we are well placed to make the most of further growth opportunities while maintaining a seamless service for customers around the world.”
